From Jerome; Hi ; Do Nurses Support Each Other? (No?!)

Published: Tue, 01/05/16

Hi ,

I hope that this note finds you well and that your New Year is off to a great start.

In a previous note, The Power of the Third Mind of Nursing (posted in LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/power-third-mind-nursing-jerome-stone) I shared my thoughts on the power that we can find within a cooperative "mastermind" within nursing.

Some of the responses that I've received from that post have centered around the observation that nurses don't always support one another. To this point, one respondent wrote, "How can this happen when there's so much bullying and back-stabbing in nursing?"

Great question. And maybe(?) a tough one to answer.

As a bedside nurse for over 25 years, I found that my peers usually were "there" to support me, or at least the ones that I counted on. Maybe that clouds my view about how well (or how badly) nurses support one another.

I'm trying to figure out what to write about in the upcoming months and in order to do that, I've created a "60 second," three-question survey to get more info.

Would you please help me to help other nurses by taking 60 seconds (or less) to fill out this survey? I would really appreciate it, and...it would help me to help you and your peers. Kind of a bonus isn't it; you get to help me and then I get to help you and others!

As always, please feel free to drop me a note if you'd like me to write about anything having to do with nursing quality-of-life, stress management and resiliency or mindfulness in nursing.

Have a mindful day.

Take care,
