Hi ; The Third Meditation Video in this Series

Hi

I hope that this note finds you well, enjoying life...even in the ups and downs.

Speaking of ups and downs, many of you have written to me asking how to use meditation while dealing with the "stuff" that goes on at work [by stuff, I assume that you're referring to the things that make you want to use other less...politically correct terms? ;-)  ]. I've been asked about things like how to deal with heavy care patients, high patient:staff ratios, difficult patients (and peers) and other work-related stressors.

While it would be great to be able to wave a *magic wand* at work and make all of these things disappear or get better, there is something almost as good that you can do to deal with the effects that these circumstances have on you. Right, you guessed it -  meditation and mindfulness.

While meditation can't make what's "out there" change (although it might), it can help you change the way that your body interprets these stressors, lessening their effect on you.

Have a look at the video; it's about 7 minutes long. Then, please, let me know whether what I'm sharing here makes sense to you.

Can you imagine using the method that I describe here at work?

Would it work for you? If yes, great; please let me know. If not, let me know too!

In the coming weeks I'll unpack more of the "how to's" of meditation as well as continue to answer your questions.

Until next time, have a mindful day.

Take care,

Jerome Stone
